ORIGIN

Dr. Bo & Baba Mara in Slavonski Brod, Croatia.

Dr. Bo (Boris) Cicak was born in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. During the civil war in the former Yugoslavia, his family fled as refugees to Hamburg, Germany. He spent his early childhood immersed in outdoor play and sports, adapting to new cultures and languages along the way. His family later immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, where a new chapter of growth and opportunity began.

EDUCATION

Dr. Bo was always drawn to sports, movement, and mentorship. He spent much of his free time at a local youth center in Winnipeg—first as a player, then as a coach—supporting inner-city youth through basketball and community programs. While earning degrees in Kinesiology and Education at the University of Winnipeg, he also worked as a wellness consultant at the renowned Wellness Institute, led personal training groups, and taught physical education. Still, he felt called to create a deeper impact. Dr. Bo sold his belongings and moved to California to attend Life West Chiropractic College, where his understanding of the body and healing deepened beyond anything he had imagined.

SERVICE TO OTHERS

Dr. Bo serving the gift chiropractic in Haiti & India

While attending Life West Chiropractic College, Dr. Bo volunteered on global service trips to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and India—traveling to India three times and adjusting thousands of people in underserved communities. These experiences became a turning point in his journey. Working with limited resources and language barriers, he witnessed how powerful human touch and intention could be. Service not only refined his skills—it reaffirmed his belief that healing is a universal language.

EARLY SUCCESS

After graduating, Dr. Bo moved to San Diego and joined a well-established chiropractic office. He quickly became a high-volume practitioner, adjusting hundreds of people each week. The clinic was voted Best Chiropractic Office in San Diego two years in a row, and the experience helped Dr. Bo sharpen his skills and grow his reputation. But while successfully running a busy practice, the nonstop pace began to take a toll on his body. He started experiencing physical pain and the early signs of burnout. Something needed to change.

INVESTING IN YOURSELF

In search of a better way to serve, Dr. Bo turned inward. He began investing in his personal development and found a community of entrepreneurs, healers, and leaders who inspired him to grow from the inside out. During this time, he gained a deeper understanding of how to care for his own body while continuing to support others. His leadership expanded as he began hosting men’s health and self-development retreats—creating space for others to reconnect with purpose, strength, and healing.

COMMUNITY

Dr. Bo stepped away from practice and moved to Austin, Texas—a decision that gave him space to reset and grow. Surrounded by a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and healers, he deepened his understanding of what it truly means to take care of yourself—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He continued attending chiropractic seminars during this time, and with each experience, his passion to return to his purpose grew stronger: helping others heal naturally.

THE RETURN

Dr. Bo is going back to Cali

Bo returned to San Diego with renewed energy and clarity. He began practicing chiropractic again—this time with a vision in mind. As he adjusted patients, he was also visualizing something bigger: a space that felt less like a clinic and more like a school. A movement-centered practice built on education, intention, and purpose. During this season, Dr. Bo found his groove again—and laid the foundation for the kind of healing environment he always dreamed of creating.

THE VISION COMING TO LIFE

Dr. Bo & one of his best friends Andres in Costa Rica

The inspiration for ANIMA came in Costa Rica, after Dr. Bo invested deeply in his healing and self-development. In that stillness, a clear vision emerged—a space where movement, education, and natural healing would come together under one roof. Returning home, he aligned the right people and eventually found the perfect location.ANIMA was no longer a vision. It became a reality.

PURPOSE

Returning to San Diego, Dr. Bo began attracting the right people—individuals who believed in the mission and were ready to bring ANIMA to life. In December 2024, ANIMA Movement Center officially opened its doors. Rooted in the mission to empower others to heal naturally through movement, breath, and intention, the center quickly became more than just a clinic. With classes, community events, and a renewed sense of purpose, Dr. Bo was serving his purpose—teaching, healing, and leading. The grand opening celebration marked the beginning of something truly special.

PASSION

The First Bay Club Basketball Championship

Dr. Bo has created the life he once dreamed of—rooted in purpose, community, and healing. Along the way, he’s learned that his greatest challenges were his greatest teachers. As a wounded healer, he’s grateful for every experience that shaped him, and he now dedicates his life to helping others rise through their own adversity. When he’s not serving at ANIMA, you’ll find him living the lifestyle he teaches—training, recovering, and winning championships with his team at the Bay Club basketball league.
